About

Hi! Welcome to my blog and digital portfolio.

My name is Roselyn Romero and I am a proud Filipino American journalist, writer, and media professional. I recently earned my bachelor’s degree from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo in journalism with a concentration in news and minors in Spanish, ethnic studies, and women’s & gender studies.

I recently wrapped up my internship at NBC Bay Area as an Investigative Unit intern. Previously, I was the inaugural Ida B. Wells Society for Investigative Reporting intern for the Global Investigations team of The Associated Press. Before that internship, I was the senior news producer and weekend producer at KSBY, the top local TV news source for San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara counties in California.

In the future, I hope to be a reporter specializing in health, science, and well-being. I also envision myself creating investigative documentaries that expose wrongdoing and hold public officials accountable.

Outside of the newsroom, I enjoy reading books, powerlifting, hiking, painting, watching “Jeopardy!” and religiously playing The New York Times’ Wordle and Spelling Bee games every day.

If you’re interested in contacting me for personal or business inquiries, feel free to do so on my Contact page. Thank you for reading!
